The highly anticipated IONIQ 6 electric car from Hyundai was unveiled with a digital world premiere film. The electrified streamliner, the newest member of the IONIQ all-electric lineup, pushes the limits of what is possible in electric mobility thanks to its suite of cutting-edge technologies, customizable interior, and increased range.

The IONIQ 6 has an estimated all-electric range of over 610 km and can charge at 400 V or 800 V simultaneously, thanks to the Hyundai Motor Group's Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). It also has Dual Color Ambient Lighting, Speed Sync Lighting, an EV Performance Tune-up, and Electric Active Sound Design (e-ASD). These features add to the electric mobility experience, and it may be Hyundai's most aerodynamic design to date.

According to Jaehoon Chang, CEO of Hyundai Motor Company, "IONIQ 6 is the next ambitious step forward in Hyundai Motor's strategy to accelerate its transition to electrification and into a global leadership position in EVs." Regarding electric mobility, nothing compares to the IONIQ 6 electric car.
The electrified streamliner uses E-GMP to its advantage, resulting in a lengthy wheelbase of 2,950 mm that can accommodate either 20- or 18-inch wheels. An impressive 4,855 millimeters in length, the IONIQ 6 stands out from the crowd of similar-looking EVs with its 1,880 millimeters in width and 1,495 millimeters in height.

The new IONIQ 6 electric car is built to "seamlessly enhance our daily lives as a space to awaken your potential," as Thomas Schemera, Executive Vice President, Global Chief Marketing Officer, and Head of Customer Experience Division at Hyundai Motor Company, put it. The cutting-edge cabin was designed to be a relaxing haven for its occupants, and it features state-of-the-art amenities to ensure their safety and enjoyment on the road. Once again, our customers' values have guided the roomy cabin's design, which places a premium on sustainability and usability.

The cabin of the IONIQ 6 electric car was made with the express purpose of being a quiet sanctuary where the driver can relax. Using the available palette of 64 colors and six pre-set themes, the driver can personalize the interior cabin atmosphere with the help of the Dual Color Ambient Lighting system. When the Speed Sync Lighting mode is turned on, the front row's internal lighting intensity changes based on how fast the car is going. This adds a sense of emotion to the driving experience.
As an alternative, you can opt for Reclination Comfort. The first row of seats can be reclined to create a more relaxing experience. Furthermore, all of its seats are designed from the ground up for all-electric models, making them about 30% thinner than regular seats while still providing the same amount of space. We've included five USB ports (4 type-C and one type-A) to accommodate different users' needs.

The EV Performance Tune-up system in the IONIQ 6 allows the driver to fine-tune the vehicle to their specific preferences by adjusting the steering effort, motor power, accelerator pedal sensitivity, and driveline model. Drivers can make their cars exactly how they want them to be with just a few button presses.

The IONIQ 6 electric car features e-ASD, a technology that makes EVs more exciting and people-friendly. The best, most spaceship-like audio is installed, and the sound's texture adapts to the vehicle's current operation state.

"The IONIQ 6 electric car combines an emotional confluence of functionality with aesthetics," said SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai Design Center. The unique, streamlined design results from the in-depth collaboration between our engineers and designers, who place a premium on providing exceptional service to every one of our clients. The IONIQ 6 is designed to be a relaxing haven where each user can find their own unique space.
For the IONIQ 6, Hyundai offers several different drive motors and battery packs to meet every customer's needs. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) electric motor configurations are both compatible with the long-range 77.4 kWh battery (AWD). The premium dual-motor setup is an all-wheel drive (AWD) option with a combined 239 kW and 605 Nm of torque. This PE configuration can go from 0 km/h to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds.

An impressive rate of energy consumption has been achieved by the IONIQ 6. According to WLTP, the energy consumption of the standard 53-kWh battery with the 18-inch tire and RWD motor option is calculated to be smaller than 14 kWh per 100 km. This makes the IONIQ 6 one of the most energy-efficient vehicles on the market.

In addition to the standard 800-V charging system, the IONIQ 6's E-GMP architecture supports 400-V charging without additional components or adapters. When using a 350-kW charger, the IONIQ 6 can be charged from 10% to 80% in just eighteen minutes.

IONIQ 6, like IONIQ 5 before it, provides an innovative vehicle-to-load (V2L) function that allows customers to charge any electric device—ideal for powering necessities during a power outage or outdoor projects. V2L is enabled using a functional accessory adaptor and goes into the outside charging port. In addition to the standard power outlet, there is an extra one under each seat in the third row. This makes it easy to charge laptops, phones, and tablets.
IONIQ 6's modular touchscreen dashboard integrates a 12-inch full-touch infotainment display and a 12-inch digital cluster that houses advanced technologies for an enhanced digital user experience that can be customized to meet their needs.

The IONIQ 6's infotainment system provides real-time travel radius mapping based on the current state of charge. The system's connected car services also help search and plan the best route, including a charging station along the way.

The high-resolution screen is perfect for using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. It is attainable to pair two Bluetooth devices simultaneously, one for making phone calls and the other for listening to music. A total of eight speakers (including a subwoofer) are spread across the car's interior to provide a high-quality audio experience, courtesy of the high-end Bose sound system. Bluelink Infotainment/Map Updates are included with the navigation system.
The Hyundai SmartSense Advanced Driver Assistance Systems that come standard on the IONIQ 6 are the next step in making cars safer and more convenient.

The second generation of Highway Driving Assist (HDA 2) helps drivers keep their vehicles centered in their lanes and at a predetermined distance from the car in front of them, even around turns. It helps to adjust the vehicle's path so that it is not in danger if the car on the other side is driving too closely. A system detects when a driver is going over a certain speed while holding the wheel and using the turn signal switch to make a lane change.

Using the driver's learned driving style, Smart Cruise Control (SCC) keeps a safe distance from the car in front of it and keeps the vehicle moving at a constant speed. This feature learns the driver's driving habits while SCC is disabled. When the SCC is turned on, the system stops learning and starts driving on its own, imitating the driving pattern it has learned.

Avoiding front-end collisions are made more accessible with forwarding Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA). It sounds an alarm if the car in front of you suddenly brakes or if it detects something in the road ahead that could cause a collision, like a pedestrian or a parked car. In the event that the potential for collision persists after the warning, it can provide emergency braking assistance. It can help you stop quickly in an emergency, like when you're about to hit an oncoming car or cyclist.

Upgraded versions of the Junction Crossing, Lane Changing Oncoming, Lane Changing Side, and Evasive Steering Assist are available on the SEL and Limited. When crossing an intersection, if it detects a potential for a collision with oncoming traffic from either the left or the right, it will apply emergency brakes to help mitigate the situation. Suppose the driver is attempting to switch lanes and a collision is possible with a vehicle in the oncoming lane or the car ahead of them in the oncoming route. In that case, the system will automatically assist with steerage avoidance. And if a pedestrian is partially in your vehicle's path, it will help you steer around them automatically.

Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA) and High Beam Assist (HBA) are two additional semi-autonomous driving features that help adjust the vehicle's speed to stay within the speed limit and turn the high beams on and off at night for oncoming traffic, respectively.

The IONIQ 6 has several features that keep the driver's attention. The purpose of Driver Attention Warning (DAW) is to monitor the driver's focus and sound an alert if it becomes unsafe. When it detects driver fatigue, it sounds like an alarm and suggests a break. The driver will be notified if the vehicle in front of them moves away from the stop.

Multiple systems work together to help drivers avoid accidents while driving in various conditions. Rear-end collisions can occur when changing lanes, but with Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), you won't have to worry about it. Warnings can be given if a rear-ending collision is imminent when using the turn signal to change lanes. It can help you stop quickly if you are about to hit a car behind you as you pull out of a parallel parking spot.

You can safely switch lanes thanks to the Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM), another feature that plays the video of the area immediately outside your vehicle's peripheral vision. A video of the blind spot in the direction signaled by the turn signal switch is played.

Safe Exit Warning (SEW) is a feature available on the IONIQ 6 that alerts the driver and passengers to the presence of another vehicle when they attempt to exit the vehicle. If the door opens and a car is coming up behind it, the person inside will be warned.

A wide range of parking convenience options simplifies parking in many contexts. The second generation of Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA 2) allows the driver to get out of the car and into a parking spot without ever leaving their seat. This function is helpful for parking in any direction, including parallel, perpendicular, and diagonal.

Parking safely is made more accessible with the help of the Surround View Monitor (SVM), which shows a live feed of the area immediately surrounding the car. When parking or exiting a vehicle, forward, side, and reverse parking collision-avoidance assist (PCA) systems can help drivers avoid crashing into nearby pedestrians and other obstacles. It warns the driver if they hit a pedestrian or another vehicle as they leave a parking spot. If the chance of a crash increases after the warning, it will automatically help you stop in an emergency.

Like Lane Departure Warning Systems, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) is designed to help drivers avoid accidents with vehicles approaching from the side. It sounds an alarm if the driver is at risk of colliding with an oncoming car from the left or right as they are reversing. After the alert, if the chance of a crash increases, it will start to help you break automatically in an emergency.
